Meet Our In-House Staff!

Michael J. Piper

Iowa Multilingual Solutions, LLC, was formed in 2001 by Michael J. Piper, a certified interpreter and translator (NAJIT and ATA). Michael earned his M.A. degree in Spanish from the University of Northern Iowa, and his M.L. degree (also completing doctoral level coursework) in Linguistics at the Colegio de México in Mexico City. An Iowa native, Michael lived and worked in Mexico (D.F. and Oaxaca) for over 10 years. As a professional interpreter, Michael has interpreted for international business events on 5 continents, and has taught at universities and colleges in the U.S., Mexico, and Venezuela.

Priscila Palomino Piper

Consultant Priscila Palomino Piper earned her B.A. degree in Communications/ Linguistics from Dallas Baptist University, a B.A. degree in Elementary Education (ESL endorsement) from the University of Northern Iowa, and an M.A.E. degree in Elementary Education and Language Arts (Bilingual Education emphasis) also from UNI. A native of Mexico City, Priscila is currently a Language Acquisition Specialist (Spanish Language Coordinator) for the Drake University Language Acquisition Program (DULAP) in Des Moines. Priscila has taught at universities and colleges in the U.S., Mexico, and Venezuela.

Freelance Consultants

In addition to our In-House Staff, Iowa Multilingual Solutions contracts with language professionals for specific projects. For translation and interpreting projects in languages for which certification exists, IMS contracts with certified professionals in order to guarantee output of the highest quality. For languages in which certification is not available, IMS fully verifies the qualifications of our contractors before authorizing them to work on our clients' projects.
